Welcome to BJ's 38 Foundation “More Stories like Macario's”
BJ’s 38 Foundation was founded by 15-year-old BJ Williams, a rising basketball star and AAU World Champion, in honor of his younger brother Macario—a living miracle who had 38% of his brain removed at just 5 weeks old to save his life.
Despite a devastating prognosis, Macario overcame every medical expectation. Today, he’s a joyful, thriving 9-year-old—thanks to his family’s strength and a life-saving medicine created by their mother, Dr. Annabelle Manalo Morgan, a cellular biologist who refused to give up on her son.
What started as a personal symbol has now grown into BJ’s 38 Foundation, which champions underserved youth through basketball, community-building, and education.
• On his 14th birthday, BJ launched the foundation with a free basketball clinic in the Philippines.
• He began asking for $38 donations, a campaign that raised enough to build the first Court 38.
• In June 2024, the first official Court 38 was unveiled in Manila.
• In April 2025, a second Court 38 opened in Caloocan City, along with another free clinic for local kids.
• BJ’s connection to the Philippines runs deep—his grandparents are Filipino, and he first played there as part of the NBTC International Tournament representing Fil-Am Nation Select.
BJ’s 38 Foundation is committed to:
• Creating safe, inspiring spaces like Court 38 around the world
• Empowering families through storytelling, access, and resources
• Expanding beyond basketball, investing in education, wellness, and youth leadership
